When I found out about this program I was your average twenty year old that made a lot of bad mistakes in the past and got dealt a bad hand in life. I was getting frustrated and very hopeless with looking for resources to help me achieve my goals. I was pregnant with my first and only child and was all alone. I wanted to finish my GED and further my education in college so that I may give my child a better life than I had. I found out I had an interest in hospitality and wanted to go to school to study it.

I have benefited with working with the Urban Colors Arts and Mentoring program. With the help of the mentors and staff I have accomplished so many of my goals and more. I was able to get assistance with setting realistic goals for myself and completing them in a good time manner. I was amazed with how much this program offers for us youth in unfortunate situations. They had offered to help me further my education, employment, and my favorite parenting skills.

I am glad to say that I am a success story of Urban Colors and I am still involved with the program. I m in school, working at a job I love, and have a healthy baby boy. Because of them I am able to help others get through whatever trials they may have in life. With all the help, support, and mentoring I received from Urban Colors they never asked for nothing in return except that I be successful young adult that I am today. Thanks Urban Colors Arts and Mentoring.
